Just needed to Vent a little
I don't know who the hell actually uses Livejournal anymore, but I needed way more space than facebook can give me, so prepare for a rant:

The two biggest problems with the economy are easily seen, unless you are someone in charge who is too stuck up to admit a failing.

The first is the government. Yes, the government. The people of the liberal left want to increase government power, but only in removing people's personal rights. These are the people that made it so that Elementary School teachers cannot use red pen or "x"s to mark wrong answers (Can cause sadness and aggression in children), cannot take any toys snuck into school away from them for the day (Theft lawsuits) and must get School board approval to do any "christmas" based activities (to not offend any alternate or non faithed children). The right wants less government intervention, except more government spending overseas. and BOTH SIDES ARE RETARDED. Kids SHOULD feel bad about getting wrong answers, so they study and don't do it again. They SHOULD have their toys taken away, and not even for a day, TIL THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR! Christmas should be celebrated in every classroom, because even if your parents have you celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or just plain old Wiccan Winter Solstice, no child in the world could use LESS showings of solidarity and generosity. People complaining that we need less government (republicans) then bitch about how their Democratic house/senate/president is failing them. We need more government, and it needs to...uh, I dunno...GOVERN! Regulation would fix so many problems. How many people (myself being one) are paying WAAAAAY too much rent for WAAAAAAY too small of an apartment. In a 3 apartment building, assuming each apartment pays the same rent, are you telling me the landlord's mortgage and water/sewage bills are almost $3000 a month? He either got a shitty mortgage loan, or more likely, he is exploiting people's need for shelter to make an unreasonable profit.

Which brings me to number 2: Corporation immunity. People spout out their ass on TV that "we are a booming economy because Capitalism is such a great system and the free market has served us well." WE NEVER HAD A FUCKING FREE MARKET! In a free market, each company can do WHATEVER IT WANTS, within the law, to maximize profits. But in THIS country, some companies are able to elude certain laws, using the loopholes to escape hefty fines and taxes (profit shrinkers) and use them as nooses against smaller companies. As long as banks/airlines/auto companies are getting government bailouts, and a government appointed chairman of the treasury is determining the prime rate for loans, we don't have a free market.

So how do we fix it? Simple: we do exactly the OPPOSITE of what our liberal, anti-establishment, Daily Show democratic minds want us to do. We INCREASE government, but only under the provision that the increase isn't just a blank check, but more involvement with everything this country is. Regulation of every government agency office: DMV gets regulated for more streamlined service with restrictions on when renewals are processed and when new registrations can be done. Unemployment offices and the departments of labor get new staff to more thoroughly investigate businesses, big and small, to ensure they are abiding by all labor laws, and only deny unemployment claims when it was the employee's fault for losing the job. Welfare and state aid offices get more regulations and staff to thoroughly investigate who is getting the aid and why (No more aid to people who make the gov pay their rent while they buy flat screens). Also, more regulation of business and tax laws. Companies in this country have offices in Seattle, Warehouses in Sacramento and DC, Board Meetings in NY and have the balls to have an offshore financing office and claim to be "A foreign company" and so are exempt from US tax laws. AND THE GOVERNMENT FUCKING BUYS IT! You want to be a foreign company, you get taxed for every product sold/imported here, and you get taxed for operating here. If they claim they're a US company to avoid taxes, we then fine them for importing foreign goods (the stuff they make in thai sweat shops) and fine them for not paying their overseas workers according to US DOL wages. If they pack up, we seize all remaining assets int the US and let a real US comapny with US employees and US manufacturing take it all for pennies on the dollar. The country needs to TAKE BACK CONTROL from the companies who are buying their dominance by bribing the right people.

Ah Gravity; my Sometimes Friend, Sometimes Foe
So I guess I should update with some BIG news; no, I am not Jesus reincarnated, nor the anti-christ.

While the wife and I were away on her vacation, apparently Bank of America tried to contact everyone in our building. Seems that while our landlord was in Texas taking care of her dying mom, she neglected a few other things, namely making the mortgage payments on all 4 of her properties. The bank foreclosed on them and they are going to auction, but the catch is that the bank thinks that a building will be easier to sell if it is empty. December 14th a Sheriff showed up with a Notice of Eviction stating we had to be out by March 14th. Not a big issue since the Bank came to us on the side with an offer. See, every month that tenants stay here with no landlord, they stay rent free. Bank isn't making any money on the property, so the faster they can egt tenants OUT, the faster they can put it to auction. So they offered something called "Cash for Keys." We signed a legal agreement stating we would be out by JANUARY 14th, and they would cut us a check for $2000; that's enough for a Security deposit and most of first month's rent for 3 Bedroom apartments around here.

But it meant we needed to find a place and FAST. Well, we were living in a 3rd floor apartment on Union, close enough to Creamland to walk in the summer. Well we found another 3 bedroom. Unfortunately, it's ANOTHER 3rd floor, and it's right down the goddamn street, still close enough to walk to Creamland. It's more expensive each month, and doesn't include water/sewage utility, but it has double the space (Comes with an attic only 3rd floor has access to) and Washer/Dryer Hookup. We'll be moving small stuff every day for the next 2 weeks or so (Minus a few days) and on moving day we'll have paid and insured movers to move the really heavy stuff.

Of course, this being New England, the minute the holidays pass and I start wanting to bring stuff over to the new place, snow and cold set in.

Just when you have a little faith in Humanity...
So, about 5 months ago, I got into a car accident and lost my pretty gold Sable Station wagon. Everyone was fine, but the car was totaled and needed to be towed away. We signed the title over to the towing company to avoid storage fees, and waited almost a month before we were in a position to look at cars again.

We bought a Ford Taurus for 1000, and it turned out to be a piece of shit. 700 dollars of parts and labor later, things were almost all fixed with it.

Two days before Izan goes back to school, someone smashes in my rear windshield. In the entire alley where cars are parked, no one else is hit, and it was hit suspiciously right where it would need to be hit to get glass on the rear seat where Izan would sit...two days after Shana told IZan's dad he couldn't stay over his dad's house on school nights. Needless to say, with no "Safe" car to bring him to school, Jerry kept Izan at his place in Derry.

This past Friday, we put down some financing for a $4500 minivan ()ANOTHER MINIVAN, ARGH!) and we can already tell it needs some work. But as long as I can bring Izan to school safely, fit a load of groceries in the trunk, or load a car full of geeks for D&D, I'm happy.

Keith Urban - Tonight I Wanna Cry
Alone in this house again tonight
I got the TV on, the sound turned down and a bottle of wine
There's pictures of you and I on the walls around me
The way that it was and could have been surrounds me
I'll never get over you walkin' away

    (Chorus:)
I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings show
And I thought that bein' strong meant never losin' your self-control
But I'm just drunk enough to let go of my pain
To hell with my pride, let it fall like rain
    From my eyes
    Tonight I wanna cry

Would it help if I turned a sad song on
"All By Myself" would sure hit me hard now that you're gone
Or maybe unfold some old yellow lost love letters
It's gonna hurt bad before it gets better
But I'll never get over you by hidin' this way

I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings show
And I thought that bein' strong meant never losin' your self-control
But I'm just drunk enough to let go of my pain
To hell with my pride, let it fall like rain
    From my eyes
    Tonight I wanna cry

I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings show
And I thought that bein' strong meant never losin' your self-control
But I'm just drunk enough to let go of my pain
To hell with this pride, let it fall like rain
    From my eyes
    Tonight I wanna cry

    Keith Urban - Stupid Boy
    well she was precious
    like a flower
    she grew wild
    wild but innocent
perfect prayer in a desperate hour
she was everything beautiful and different

    stupid boy
    you can't fence that in
    stupid boy
it's like holding back the wind

    [Chorus]
she laid her heart and soul right in your hands
and you stole her every dream
    and you crushed her plans
she never even knew she had a choice
and that's what happens when the only voice she hears
    is telling her she cant
    stupid boy
    stupid boy

so what made you think that you could take a life
and just push it, push it around
i guess to build yourself up so high
you had to take her and break her down

    [Chorus]
she laid her heart and soul right in your hands
and you stole her every dream
    and you crushed her plans
she never even knew she had a choice
and that's what happens when the only voice she hears
    is telling her she cant
    and you stupid boy

oh you always had to be right
and now you've lost the only thing that ever made you feel alive

    [Chorus]
she laid her heart and soul right in your hands
and you stole her every dream
and you crushed her plans, oh yes he did
she never even knew she had a choice
and that's what happens when the only voice she hears
    is telling her she cant

    you stupid boy
oh I'm the same old same old stupid boy

it took a while for her to figure out
    she could run
    but when she did
she was long gone, long gone

she loved me, she loved me
god please just let her know im sorry
im sorry, im sorry, im sorry baby
    im down on my knees
she's never coming back to me

Rascal Flatts - To Make Her Love Me
You waved your hand and it was done
So let it be and there it was
A mountain, so high, it broke through, the sky
A canyon, so deep, it'll bring a man to his knees

    [Chorus]
I've seen what you can do
I've seen you make miracles and hopeless dreams come true
You've made the heavens and the stars
    Everything, come on how hard
Could it be, To make her love me?

    I've said some things I shouldn't have
Tried everything to win her back
I'm human, I messed up, Is she gone?, Are we done?
Forgiveness, another chance, that's all I want, it's in your hands

    [chorus]
I've seen what you can do
I've seen you make miracles and hopeless dreams come true
You've made the heavens and the stars
    Everything, come on how hard
Could it be, To make her love me?

    [Chorus]

    To make her love me
To make her love me (oooo)

    Whiskey Lullabye
    She put him out
Like the Burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
    She broke his heart
He spent his whole life tryin' to forget

We Watched him drink his pain away
    a Little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough
To get her off his mind, until the night...

    (CHORUS)
He put that Bottle to his head, and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life was short, but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said "I'll love her til I die"
And when we buried him beneath the Willow
The angels sang a Whiskey Lullabye
    La-la-la-la la-la-la, La-la-la-la-la la-la

    The rumors flew
But nobody knew how much she blamed herself
    For years and Years
She tried to hide the Whiskey on her breath

She finally drank her pain away
    a Little at a time
But she never could get drunk enough
to get him off her mind, until the night...

She put that Bottle to Her head, and pulled the Trigger
and finally drank away his memory
Life was short, but this time it was Bigger
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees
We found her with her face down in the pillow
Clingin' to his picture for dear life
We laid her next to him beneath the Willow
While the angels sang a Whiskey Lullabye

    La-la-la-la la-la-la, La-la-la-la-la la-la

And now a message from the English Language Commitee
To the makers of pornography, and the people who distribute it (Either legally or illegally) This is your refresher course on certain terminology. Ahem:

Professional: Someone who is quite skilled at the task they are doing and are paid for it. Brianna Banks, Jenna Jameson and Evan Stone are all "professional" adult film stars.

Homemade: People who are skilled at the acts they perform, but are not being paid for it. The Paris Hilton Video and Pam & Tommy Lee Video are both examples of "homemade" before the parties involved decided to distribute them for pay.

Amateur: People who are not being paid for, nor are experts at the acts they perform. Someone doing something for the first time, on a webcam or cell phone or even HandyCam, is a TRUE amateur.

Please, producers and distributors, stop labeling things like Bang Bros and Mike's apartment as "Amateur" when the girls involved are there on paid contract and are porn starlets, making them both skilled and paid. We would like you to start labeling these videos as either "Amateur Stories" or "Lay for Pay". It is demeaning to the educated watcher, and destructive to the vocabulary of the uneducated to call a movie using paid porn stars amateur simply because it has the story of a girl being picked up off the street. Would you call Indiana Jones a "historical Documentary"?

Don't know why I do this
Really no point in posting here anymore. Not like anyone actually reads this anymore. I suppose I do it just to get the ideas and thoughts off my chest. I should have a wife as a confidant for this sort of thing, but I guess that's part of it this time. Whatever happened to the person who "got" me, who could understand me? She's out right now. She works a little longer hours with her new promotion, so she felt she needed some time to unwind with one of her friends for drinks. So I'm still at home with the kids, like I always am. I'm the house chauffeur, grocer, cook, waiter, dishwasher, animal handler, teaching aide, entertainment, cleaning crew and network admin. I do my jobs from breakfast to bedtime, and I have to stay up late to do some of them cause I'm only one person and can't be in two or more places at once. In four months I haven't gotten more than 5 hours of sleep a night, but I'm not the one who needs to unwind. Maybe if I had my certifications by now I'd have a job and I could take an afternoon off that wasn't me going out for groceries or paper towels, or having the infant in tow with the car seat and stroller, but I'm the only guy I know of who spent 16K on college classes so I could spend $200 on a test and fail it by 75 points! I found the copy of the test today while I was cleaning, and Thank You mom for the hereditary bipolarism, it has been a steady decline in my mood since. I just want to open up my private bottle of Jack and just drink until everything is pleasantly numb again.

    An Interesting Excercise in creativity
My mind has been bottled up so much lately. I have so much I want to get out, but it's being blocked by a rationalization of things that I need to do first. So I thought I'd share this fun little exercise with my friends: To make a spark of creativity fire in that big block engine of your mind, start with something well known. something that everyone can grasp. Then change just one tiny little thing and see how it ripples outward in that fictional world. Soon, you won't be able to write fast enough to keep up with the changes. :-D Watch:

THE JUSTICE LEAGUE (Kevin's Altered Version)

    ~Batman Inc.~
everyone knows that Bruce Wayne is a millionaire playboy and head of Wayne Industries, a company that makes and manufactures things from circuitry for cable boxes, to Network Interface Cards, to Cell Phone satellites and even some Military contracts. What no one knows is that by Night, Bruce Wayne dons a costume of a giant bat and uses it to strike fear into the hearts of criminals in Gotham City as the Batman. Well, no one except his entire company's Gotham City home office. Everyone working in that particular branch is hand picked by Wayne and his compatriots in Crime Fighting (Lucius Fox and Alfred Pennyworth) to ensure the most trustworthy individuals. These few are treated the best that companies can treat employees, with the best benefits and free technology, because all of them know that Gotham's branch is roughly 60% R&D, and most of that goes into a cave below Wayne Manor. With that many people working under him for his secret cause, things like missing inventory, finance discrepancies and public appearances are all neatly explained.

    ~Wonder Woman and the Amazons~
In the 1940s, Princess Diana left her home island of Thermopylae and ventured forth into the world of man. She found great evil during the second World War, but also saw good and compassion int he hearts of Americans. So it was that she dedicated herself to fighting injustice the world over as America's first dedicated Female Superhero. Now, over 60 years later, with more conflict than ever, she needs help. Thankfully, for the last 40 years, she has been given her own subdivision of the Department of Defense, and has called more of her timeless sisters from Thermopylae to head up her squads of "Amazons"; All female special forces teams that have been cosmetically and surgically altered to resemble the true Amazonians, acting as quick strike forces the world over. While the true Wonder Woman does battle with the super villains, the spec ops squads respond to lesser threats in her stead.

    ~Superman, the Scion of Krypton~
In deep space lay the remnants of planet Krypton, a world once inhabited by human-like life forms who orbited a red giant star. Their star was tampered with by outside forces, and was doomed to explode, so it was that the lead of their Science Division, Jor-El, sent his infant son (Kal-El) into space in suspended animation so that he may fall upon some planet and survive. Landing in rural Kansas, he was found and adopted by a family of farmers, the Kents, and raised as their own. Due to the less intense yellow sun of Earth, Kal-El's body was affected by less gravity than his home planet, and could fly. Similarly, his body was denser, in muscle and cellular structure, making him near indestructible and giving him incredible strength. Due to the strange (to him) radiation of a yellow sun, other powers of his developed, and continue to today. But when he found out earth scientists were preparing to study and attempt to prolong their sun's lifetime, he remembered the consequences that befell his own world, and his mind snapped. He destroyed all the unmanned probes, then used his eye beams to lobotomize the information about the sun (and much rudimentary function) from the lead physicists brain. Living in his fortress of solitude on the moon, he stays in self imposed exile, a dark and brooding god among men, watching the stars for the dark forces that will eventually come to take Earth. And he waits with a smile knowing he will let those forces wreak destruction upon the people of Earth until they call to him for help, and will treat him as their all-powerful god-king that he is...

    Listen to the Goddamned Bunny
I have a confession to make: I am Anonymous. I am faceless, heartless, and relentless. I do not forget, and I do not forgive.

    And I live on 4chan's /b/ board.

Listen to the bunny. for all that is holy, listen to the bunny.

4chan is an internet community, but only as much as the sex club from "Eyes Wide Shut" was a circle of friends. Most of 4chan is a place where people could gather with others that share their interests, but the random board (called /b/) is more like the cult scene, with no one taking a name, having the safety and peace of mind of NOT knowing who anybody else is. For the most part, it is a place for the intellectual to act dumb for the sake of enjoyment. We laugh at penis jokes, pictures from peoples' facebooks, and pictures of funny cats with poor grammar captions.

Occasionally, someone dares to challenge 4chan, and that's when the horrors arise. These seemingly dumb people are our doctors, lawyers, police, computer programmers, network admins, city officials and possibly worse (It is heavily hinted that a writer for the Colbert Report is a /b/-tard from 4chan). When this happens, their site is flooded with pictures of roadkill, cancerous organs and far worse and more illegal images. Meanwhile, the collective hivemind attempts to run their site into the ground by using up all of their site's bandwidth for the month in a matter of days.

When we turn our fickle attention on something we like, our powers for good are near limitless. (You may have heard of YouTube sensation Tay Zonday, and his song about racism "Chocolate Rain"? Yeah, WE made him so popular, Dr. Pepper paid him a shit-ton to make a song called "Cherry-Chocolate Rain" for their cherry Chocolate Dr. Pepper.)

Stay away from 4chan. Once you go there, HOURS of the day disappear as you search through Thread after thread, refreshing each board's front page to see if anything new has popped up. (Although /ck/ is pretty safe, buncha professional chefs and cooks).

Save yourself, for you cannot save me.

Also, you just lost the game.

    What the fuck am I?
Took a survey this afternoon. 6 questions with a sort of "Sophie's Choice" between two evils of Government. here's the survey:

What's more important? Choose one from each set:

    [ ] Freedom of Speech
[ ] Enough money to feed your family

[ ] Free and independent media
    [ ] Right to Privacy

[ ] Right to hold protests
    [ ] Better education

    [ ] Taxation with representation
    [ ] Lower taxes

    [ ] Due Process
    [ ] Lower crime rate

    [ ] Boosting businesses
    [ ] Higher minimum wage

    [ ] Conservative fiscal policy
    [ ] Universal Health care

    And here were my Answers:
What's more important? Choose one from each set:

    [X] Freedom of Speech
[ ] Enough money to feed your family

    >If I am truly free enough to say what I want, I can bring to light the economic problems of the administration to try and make things better.

    [X] Free and independent media
    [ ] Right to Privacy

    >The press can dig up whatever they want on me, so long as they are doing it in an unbiased informative manner.

[ ] Right to hold protests
    [X] Better education

    >Protestfags are the RL cancer. If they had a decent education, they could try to actually DO something about the things they protest about.

    [X] Taxation with representation
    [ ] Lower taxes

    >A, if done right, could lead to B

    [ ] Due Process
    [X] Lower crime rate

    >This one will seem odd to some, but I think we need more police with harsher punishments for minor crimes. Moderate and major are encouraged by cops letting minor crimes go. I wanna see tickets for jaywalking.

    [ ] Boosting businesses
    [ ] Higher minimum wage

    >Depends. If "Boosting business" means no more tax cuts for companies outsourcing their service jobs (Tech support, X-Ray technicians) to other countries, there will be more full-time jobs available here, which means less people relying on minimum wage jobs to feed a family of four.

    [ ] Conservative fiscal policy
    [X] Universal Health care

    >A country is not made of its buildings or laws, or even by its money, but by the people who use them. There are people who would gladly push their retirement age to 80 if it meant no questions asked coverage at hospitals and clinics.

WHAT THE FUCK?! Apparently, I want to wrench mainstream control away from big government...then give the executive branch MORE POWER?

BTW, will somebody please call me and try to get together to hang out. It looks like I'll be starting a traveling Full time job soon (IT for Dunkin Donuts Scrivianos group....Yes Pierre, the South Willow store's chain with that capital "B" Bitch Diana) which means less time to hang out soon.

Time Travel, or just really lazy?
Holy crap! Has it been 38 weeks already, or is LJ lying to me. Probably the former.

I haven't had a lot of time to do updates, because my computer schedule has been hell lately. Between my firends and wife pestering me to level my Undead Warlock in WoW, and having to go through grueling programming exercises for Java, Javascript and C# Classes, I was about ready to pull out my hair at the thought of doing anything resembling work on the computer (Yes, Virginia, when playing WoW solely to level to please other people, that is a Job. One that does not pay).

Thankfully, my classes are about finished. I have english comp II this term, with a man named Andreas Reif as the professor. A little....Anyone remember the guy who talked really fast in the old Micro Machines commercials? Yeah, that's this guy. But at least he makes geeky jokes (Called on someone for an answer, and said "C'mon, be like OJ and take a stab at it.") so it won't be dull.

Next term (That'd be May/June, for those keeping score at home) will be the last class: Web Design, which is laymans term for having to learn HTML. At least that teacher will be the same one I had for Network+, A+, C# and Operating Systems, so I can pretty much nail an A no question. Once that's done, I need to go take my expensive certification tests and I will be Kevin McCarty, A+, Network + with an associates in Computer repair and support. It's like I could fight crime, if crime was made up of people who think their CD-Rom trays are cup holders.

Hopefully Hesser can help me find some junk grunt work with my degree, because that would be nice. I love staying home with Conner, but a Second income and a second source of Dental insurance would be nice. These Wisdom teeth have been creeping their way up for a year or so, and they tend to have painful moments...liek all this week.

I hope with the break of only having one class this term, I can get my mom to watch conner at some point, cause the last movie I saw in a theater was Transformers. I think I missed out on seeing National Treasure 2, Cloverfield is probably ending its run, and I want to catch Sweeney Todd.

Also, on March 4th 2008, Worldwide Game Master day, Ernest Gary Gygax, creator of the original Dungeons and Dragons, passed away due to heart failure at the age of 69. Without his contributions, there would be no WoW, no 3rd (And soon to be 4th) D&D, no Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance novels. He will be missed.

    Your Score: Bard

    51% Combativeness, 66% Sneakiness, 70% Intellect, 8% Spirituality

Dashing and multi-talented: You are a Bard!

A decent warriors, reasonable spell-caster, and fairly good at tricking people, the Bard is the jack of all trades. These charming fellows live by their wits, though a sharp blade, a few spells, and some lockpicks never hurt.

Smart, sneaky, and aggressive, you're probably good at most things you try. You dont have much need for spirituality or superstition and are much more likely to live in the here and now... and if you can get some fun and profit out of the here and now, even better.
